I just finished this one up, courtesy of NetGalley, and while I had never read this author’s work before I must say she left a good first impression. I’m definitely a thriller girly; and when I come across one that hooks me quick and keeps my attention throughout, it’s a good thing. So, it’s safe to say that I will be checking out this author’s other works when I get the chance.
I don’t want to give too much away. I’ll try and keep this as spoiler-free as possible. The story follows Stephanie, a divorced mother who is having some financial struggles. Between dealing with a difficult ex-husband and trying to make sure her children are well taken care of while maintaining her home, she’s dealing with a lot. An opportunity presents itself for her to make some extra cash, and in comes the Kemp family. The family of three rent her back house.
Right away you can tell something is off. There were definitely plenty of “get rid of these people IMMEDIATLY” moments. The pacing was perfect, and the tension was on point. I enjoyed this one!
There were some moments that were uncomfortable, but I felt it added to the story. If you’re looking for a fast-paced thriller that will shock you with a few twists, the I recommend this one. This one has a release date of March 06, 2026.
